The 2009 scholarship is now available! The deadline is May 15, 2008.

SWERVE is a non-profit, organizing resource for lesbian-focused social and civic activity in Utah. SWERVE supports charitable organizations and programs within the queer community and the community at large.

SWERVE's mission is to strengthen our community by promoting positive images of queer/ lesbian/ bisexual/ transgender women in Utah, building community among women, creating women-safe places, and engaging in civic action including education and community service.

The $1,500 SWERVE Scholarship is intended to assist in the education of women in the community who exemplify SWERVE’s mission.

Recipients are selected by a scholarship committee. Letters of application for this scholarship must be received by 15 May 2008.

Scholarship monies will be awarded in the form of a tuition check made out to the educational institution of your choice. Tuition may be used at any institution that offers post-high school education or training. SWERVE Scholarship must be utilized during the 2008-2009 school year.
