Women's Resource Center
The Women's Resource Center (WRC) at the University of Utah serves as the central resource for educational and support services for women. Honoring the complexities of women's identities, the WRC facilitates choices and changes through programs, counseling, and training grounded in a commitment to advance social justice and equality. Current WRC discussion groups:

LBQ Discussion Group
Come join us and expand your consciousness and your social network. This group offers a safe place to dialogue with other women about your experiences that may include living on the margins and in the closet. Topics may include relationship beginnings and endings, coming out to self and others, starting families and parenting, social networking, community events, creating and participating in healthy Lesbian/Bisexual/Queer culture. Pre-registration required. Please call to set up an interview and to inquire about days and time. If interested, please call for an initial phone interview (801) 581-8030. (Pre-group interview is required prior to attending group.)

Women, Food and Body Image
It is not surprising that many, if not most women struggle to even consider the possibilities of a peaceful, loving, healthy relationship with their bodies and with food. This group is designed for women of all cultures, ages and sizes to explore the personal, interpersonal, and social issues related to food, fat, body image, eating disorders, and self-acceptance. If you want to find a more accepting way to live with food and your body, please join us for a confidential, safe discussion. This is not a disordered eating therapy group or a weight loss group. (Pre-group interview is required prior to attending group.)

Women of Color Discussion Group
Are you a woman of color who is struggling to work in a predominantly White campus or community? As women of color who come from a variety of backgrounds (e.g., African American/Black, Latina/Hispanic, Asian American, Pacific Islander, American Indian, Middle Eastern/Arab American, and others), we have experiences that are unique to our individual backgrounds but also hold many common connections.

We seek to create a support system that can honor the common connections and distinct experiences of being women of color. Our discussion group can provide a safe place to share some of our struggles as well as some of our ways of coping, strengths, and resources. If you could benefit from receiving and providing this type of support, please consider joining our discussion group. (Pre-group interview is required prior to attending group.)

Women Sharing Wisdom
The focus of this group is to share the richness and complexity of women’s lives. We live in a world where women’s voices are often silenced. This group offers a place for women to be truly seen and heard and their experiences honored. The group format will include experiential exercises as well as time to make connections with other women. (Pre-group interview is required prior to attending group.)

Check the Women's Resource Center site for many other groups, programs and events.
